This is so easy and also this blood tastes and looks so much better than the nasty chemical stuff from the fancy dress shop so it is especially good if you want to have the full zombie effect of blood coming out of your mouth as it is so yummy - just make sure you brush your teeth! You can also serve it up to your guests as a sauce or topping for ice cream.
Ingredients:
Golden Syrup
Cocoa Powder
Red Food Gel or Colouring
First put as much syrup in a small saucepan as you need fake blood. I made about half a pint and so used the following measurements:
1/2 pint syrup, 1 heaped teaspoon cocoa, 1/3 teaspoon of red food gel. Gently warm the ingredients over a low heat, make sure not to boil you just want the syrup warm enough to absorb the cocoa. Use a whisk or a fork to give it a good stir. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before transferring to a bottle or storage container. If your using food colouring add until you have your desired colour.
And that's it! Easy peasy, tasty and probably cheaper than the fake stuff from the shops if you already have the ingredients!
Put it on and allow to dry on clothes for a similar effect to my t-shirt in the photo or lay it on thick and fresh for that glossy 'just mauled' look like the photo below.
