This blog is more on the decoration rather than the recipe as we've done cupcakes and buttercream. For the recipes check out past blogs.
Using red and yellow food gel dye your butter cream orange.
Use a star shaped nozzle on an icing bag or squeezy bottle (I am a big fan of the squeezy bottle - so much easier.) Cover your cakes in small star shapes all over. You can acheive this by pointing the nozzle straight down on the cake and squeeze, stop and pull away. Practice on a sheet of parchment paper first.
Add more red colouring to your remaining butter cream and fill your bag/bottle without washing it out so you get a mix of colours, however squeeze out the first bit as it will still be orange, once the red starts coming through build up your cakes with red star shapes. I then added a chocolate star and some yellow edible glitter.
