What you need -
20 cloves
1 cinnamon stick
small piece of nutmeg

3 oranges
1 250ml glass of fresh orange juice
1 bottle of dark red wine

1 large pot for warming on the hob
1 ladel for serving

step 2 - pour the wine, orange juice and sugar into a large saucepan and stir

step 3 - add the cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg then place the orange stuck with cloves into the pan. Cut another orange in half and squeeze 1 half into the pan and add both halves into the mixture and stir.

step 4 - now simmer gently for about 25 minutes this will give the spices time to flavour the wine. Do not boil!

step 5 - Cut you last orange into slices and place a twist of orange into each serving glass.

step 6 - ladel into your glasses and enjoy! Drink with a hot mince pie and cream like we did while watching a cheesy Christmas movie. Bliss.

To make your mulled wine more boozy feel free to add a shot of Brandy or Whiskey to the mix while it's warming on the hob.
